SECOND LIFE PROJECTS

We have been offering many creative programs in Second Life (www.secondlife.com) and will train you to use the technology of this amazing venue.  We also welcome collaborators and participants.  We belong to a sim (simulated Landmark) called Angelgate which is devoted to the arts, therapy and spirituality and has a number of <residents> who create an array of different workshops and events.

Octagon for Creative Exploration                 Japanese house (my residence)

Here is a sampling of the types of programs I do at my Octagon for Creative Exploration (under the Avatar name: Marly Milena):

Introducing.....Marly Milena!

VISIONS OF SELF - Digital photos played with in paint program and brought into SL and put on a slide screen.  You create a self-portrait on your computer from a black and white photo and  paint program that  represents an important aspect of the self. You upload the portrait to SL where Marly puts it on her virtual slide screen. When we gather (in Marly's  Octagon studio in virtual space), we select each portrait in turn and talk about each other's images  as though they were OUR dreams and then share our own creative process re our own image.

CREATIVE PLAY- Marly designed and implemented this one with SL friend, Heph (stands for Hephaistos, God of Fire but she is a woman) who is a myth/ archetype expert. and with Abstract Baroque, a sculptor who creates gorgeous light particle shows in SL.  We have people build or select virtual  structures and texture them to represent different feeling states or states of consciousness.  Marly does Gestalt processes  and Heph helps people explore the archetypes that show up.

PIANO COMPOSERS PROJECT - Marly asked piano composers in SL to compose a piece under two minutes long.  They are now in her virtual grand piano.  At the recital, each Avatar will play his.her own piece and she conducts an interactive discussion with audience members about what the pieces evoke re feelings and images and invite the composers to reveal their creative process and inspirations when composing the pieces.
